A Holotropic Kind of Trust

Earlier this year I asked a senior European Holotropic Breathwork facilitator how I could integrate facilitation into my everyday life.
His response: to build trust in each and every interaction I had. And he really meant every interaction - the store checkout person included.
He asked me, 'What could I do, even within 10 or 15 seconds, to show that I was trustworthy? How might I conduct or present myself ... my body language, my words, my manners, my presence with other people around me?'
I think about what he said most days.
Trust is an essential part of Holotropic Breathwork. In my opinion it's the most important thing.
Trust in the facilitators who are holding the Holotropic Breathwork space and sharing circles.
Trust in my sitter and the other sitters in the room, who are asked to support, witness and bring safety to their breathers.
Trust that I can then be the sitter my breather needs me to be.
And, most of all, trust in my inner healer to guide me through my Holotropic Breathwork journey, however significant or gentle.
As a facilitator-in-training, I have developed a deeper appreciation for the trust between facilitators. A different lens.
I love this about the European facilitators. I particularly love this about our Australian facilitators.
We are so very fortunate to have Ruth Langford and Anthony Olsen join us in Serpentine once again.
See you next month.
